The merger between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf comes after a yearlong battle between the PGA Tour, LIV Golf and their players over money, tournament invites, lawsuits and the sport’s reputation. A timeline of events detailing how we got here:

Mickelson, meanwhile, said he refused to give up his PGA Tour membership as he takes part in the rival series.

The six-time major winner skipped The Players Championship, the Masters and the PGA Championship in 2022 and lost numerous sponsors over his comments.LIV announced the field for its inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series in London for June 9-11., Talor Gooch, Matt Jones, Sergio Garcia, Kevin Na, Louis Oosthuizen, Ian Poulter, Hudson Swafford and Lee Westwood.
