Iranian migrant Kambiz Seyedghalouri and his wife, Sara Minagar, have left behind the political turmoil of their home country to open a chocolate and gelato franchise in Wollongong.

"We had two staff from Britain and Australia to help us because they were native [English language speakers]," Ms Minagar says. "The dentist quit his job in Iran and came to Australia to open a gelato shop because his daughter loves gelato, especially strawberry gelato," she says.Ms Ho says her background in management is proving to be useful.NSW government figures show nearly 473,000 new businesses started trading across Australia in the 2021–22 financial year, but more than 305,000 businesses also ceased trading."This is a franchise and our franchisor helps us a lot.
