He has been disqualified as a director

Crooked energy saving company boss Jason Rowan has been jailed for seven years after he led a lavish lifestyle as his team of salesmen ruthlessly conned more than 60 victims. Rolex-wearing Rowan was sent down at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday , and was disqualified from being a director for ten years.

The pressure exerted to ‘sign up today’ was further designed to isolate those who may have wished to research the product or speak to family members. Rowan, aged 52, previously featured in Nottinghamshire Live when his Ilkeston company was caught on camera 'targeting' elderly or vulnerable people'.

The court heard that between 2014 and 2018, Rowan and his five co-conspirators were involved with multiple companies that marketed and sold home improvement services, specifically exterior wall and roof coating products, which they claimed would improve energy efficiency and reduce household bills. David Beeson, aged 54, of Bracknell Drive, Alvaston, Derby, who held no managerial role, and was a salesman between 2016 and 2018, received three years in prison.

Investigations by National Trading Standards East Midlands and supported by Derbyshire Constabulary and Derbyshire County Council Trading Standards identified 62 victims, many of whom were elderly people living in vulnerable situations, with many aged in their 80s and 90s. In some cases, very vulnerable individuals were repeatedly and cynically targeted by the conmen for more and more work.
