The EEOC on Friday sued Cedar Fair over its employment housing policies.CLEVELAND, Ohio — A federal agency on Friday sued Cedar Point’s parent company over the amusement park’s policy against providing cheap housing for out-of-state employees over 40 years old.

The EEOC said the Cedar Fair’s policy on housing out-of-town employees violated the Age Discrimination and Employment Act that protects against discrimination of workers 40 and older. The lawsuit said the company’s policy changed in 2021 from offering lower-than-market housing and transportation for out-of-town workers from 18 years old and above to those between 18 and 29 years old, who were not employed in a live-entertainment role.
