Lubna Saadeh has always loved interior design. Her home is full of light colors, medium-toned woods and potted plants, and she describes her aesthetic as “transitional,” or a combination of modern and traditional pieces.

It’s not always easy, though, for her to find home decor as a Muslim woman in the United States. “We actually have religious rulings on what you’re allowed to hang up, what you’re not,” she said. “Certain statues are not allowed.”It’s even trickier to find decorations for Muslim holidays, she added. She remembered desperately trying to contact an online business that seemed to have “semi-cute” holiday decor via email and Facebook and getting no response.

After Rahman moved from California to Dallas in 2022, the pair decided to hold their first event in the D-FW area. Their pop-up market at the Plano Convention Center is planned for Oct. 8 and will feature 106 vendors.Saadeh and Rahman also run an interior design business called The Rustik Home.
