CLEVELAND, Ohio – Downtown Cleveland Inc., an organization focused on downtown’s development, announced the outlines of a new plan aimed in part at attracting small businesses, including creation of a pop-up vendor market, to help revitalized the area.

This led to the “Downtown Retail Strategy,” announced Thursday during the 2023 State of Downtown presentation at the City Club. “Retail thrives in places where people spend time and money. Moreover, when existing retail thrives, new retail inevitably follows,” Larisa Ortiz, managing director of public and non-profit Solutions at Streetsense, said in a news release.
“It starts with targeting and focusing on the things that we, as Downtown Cleveland Inc., can control – that is, creating the conditions for retail to succeed in downtown Cleveland,” Downtown Cleveland’s President and CEO Michael Deemer said.
