Sixty years after Congress enacted the Equal Pay Act, women still earn 83 cents on the dollar compared to men. The gap increases the higher women climb on the corporate ladder. The gap is also wider for mothers, who earn only 75 cents for every dollar paid to fathers. The gap is massively wider for black women, who earn just 52 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic fathers.
