Gardner-Johnson absent Maddox moved from the slot to first-team safety next to Reed Blankenship. The fact that a healthy Maddox has been the top option in the slot and the No. 1 backup at safety should quell any thoughts that the Eagles might move on from the oft-injured player as long as the worm turns on Maddox's medicals this summer.
