Less than a week after state weather bureau PAGASA declared the onset of the rainy season, prices of some vegetables have increased by up to P350 per kilo at Paco Market in Manila City.According to a report Tuesday by GMA Integrated News' EJ Gomez, broccoli was being sold at P350 from P100 per kilo. Mustasa prices, meanwhile, jumped three times to more than P300 per kilo.Pechay Tagalog prices surged five times to P300 from P60 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, the cost of kakong and sili leaves remained at P10 per bundle."Ay ginto. Sobra po. Parang iisipan mo na lang 'di na lang ako mag gulay. Mag-iibang luto na lang po," consumer Judineth Campo said.Some vendors said the lack of supply caused vegetable prices to spike.They expressed fears that vegetable prices will continue to climb, especially during the rainy season, as they could earn less.
