The deadly shooting happened just after 4 a.m. when police say Damon Price, 36, was with a security guard at the famers market off Airline Drive.Police say Price was letting delivery drivers in when they say the two teenagers got in through an open door. Security footage shows the suspects rummaging through the farmers market merchandise.
Police said when they were leaving, the two young suspects tried to steal a golf cart. When Price approaches the suspects, they shot him. Investigators say they shot Price at least four times then ran off. "This happened while he was doing his job," his father, Leo Price Sr., said. "Really, ain't nothing bad that can be said about a man going to work."
