The legislation, still making its way to the governor’s desk, will allow the commissioner of natural resources to expedite the sale of diseased timber or timber that has been impacted by fire or fire suppression activities. He said it is not only seen as a way to mitigate wildfire risks, but also as way to boost the timber industry by capturing the value of the timber before it goes to waste.said they believes the bill “can positively impact the timber industry while supporting overall forest health and ecosystem.”
