Limpopo Police Commissioner General Thembi Hadebe says all measures are in place to combat crime in the province during the festive season.
Speaking at the Festive Safety launch in Lebowakgomo near Polokwane yesterday, Hadebe said police are prepared to ensure a safe festive period. The province has been tackling crimes like gender-based violence, hijackings, and business robberies, which tend to rise during this time. Hadebe noted an increase in burglaries, rapes, and carjackings during the holiday season when many people travel, leaving homes unguarded.
Hadebe says, “The crimes that are prevalent, your burglaries you will know both business and residential burglaries, you will know that this is the peak time where people take holidays and go to different places and some leave their houses with no person who’s looking after them with no security system.
