has expressed unhappiness with the way the government is implementing the recommendations made by the Special Investigating Unit on corruption by state organs.
This emerged during the briefing conducted by the Presidency on the reports the SIU had tabled since 2001. According to the Presidency, President Ramaphosa has received a total of 166 investigation reports that relate to organs of state.“I am not getting a sense that the presidency actually is looking at this in a systematic way in order to make systematic improvements. Maybe let me use the term systemic, rather than systematic. Not looking at this in a systemic way,” says Scopa Chairperson, Songezo Zibi.
“You know what the chair has raised in terms of the systematic issues, because it is not enough that the SIU will go and investigate a matter and come back with their report and say this is what we found and this is what we are recommending and that person is taken to jail or their accountability is measured. But the flaw in the system remains,” says EFF MP Mazwikayise Blose.
