European city has 'cheapest Christmas market' for five years

Christmas markets are a magical part of the festive season, with hundreds scattered across Europe for visitors to explore. However, in recent years, these markets have gained a reputation for being quite pricey, whether it's the cost of food, beer or fairground rides.

According to the Post Office, a two-night stay in Riga, including flights and festive essentials like mulled wine and cakes, will only set you back £505.73. To make things even better, British Airways launched direct flights to Riga last winter. Flights also depart daily from Manchester Airport with Ryanair currently selling flights for just £54 one way.It's filled to the brim with all sorts of delights to admire and indulge in, including handmade woollen mittens, jewellery and, of course, local delicacies.
