KAJANG: Four people were rescued following a fire at a two-storey shophouse and three adjacent shops at Kampung Sungai Chua.

THE recent enforcement actions on business signboards in Kuala Lumpur is to ensure all businesses abide by the laws, says Kuala Lumpur City Hall in a statement.

"Although other languages are allowed, words in the national language must be given priority, and their sizes must be larger than words in other languages. DBKL also said throughout this year, it has collaborated with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka to carry out enforcement operations in six shopping malls, with 31 notices being issued.

"Actions have also been taken against premises that had both the business licence and signboard permits, but violated the regulation of having the national language in larger fonts than other languages."
