South Africa’s construction industry is battling a series of challenges, driving a growing number of skilled professionals to Australia.

Among the most pressing issues are the activities of so-called “construction mafias,” which have disrupted over 180 projects worth R63 billion since 2019. Activity is expected to surge to A$299 billion by 2024/25, thanks to a substantial pipeline of infrastructure projects. “We’ve facilitated numerous relocations for project managers, architects, and quantity surveyors aiming to advance their careers in a more stable and prosperous environment.”

Without substantial reform and investment, the country risks further talent erosion and stagnating infrastructure development.
