This case is part of a larger wave of litigation involving PFAS contamination against chemical manufacturers over the health and environmental damages.

An Essex County woman who alleges years of exposure to toxic chemicals in her drinking water caused her to develop kidney cancer has filed a federal lawsuit against some of the nation’s largest chemical manufacturers, including 3M, DuPont, and Chemours.

“Marcia Feldman has endured tremendous physical and emotional suffering,” the complaint states, adding that her husband has also been deeply affected, suffering a loss of consortium and companionship. The lawsuit cites internal research and regulatory findings that the chemicals are harmful to human health, including links to cancer, developmental issues, and immune system damage.
