New car registrations in the UK have increased for the second year in a row, primarily fueled by a surge in electric vehicle (EV) adoption among businesses and fleets. While only 10% of private car buyers chose pure electric vehicles, registrations by businesses and fleets rose by 64,000, accounting for 19.6% of the market. This growth comes despite challenges such as high investment costs and the need for continued consumer incentives. Overall, petrol and diesel car registrations declined, while hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles saw increases.
