.Microsoft is looking for humility, empathy, and curiosity in job candidates, says HR chief Kathleen Hogan

Hogan:

How do you evaluate how an employee contributed to someone else's success? That might be a little harder to quantify.Examples are where, especially from a software perspective, people took dependencies on other people's work versus having to reinvent it. Some of it is more qualitative in terms of a manager recognizing people on the leadership team that are onboarding and helping somebody new to the team.

Humility and empathy would be really important. Also this curiosity and this ability to learn. Things are moving so quickly and the ability to learn and to be curious is a key skill for our employees. We are looking for people who exhibit the growth mindset.
