The standards — i.e., standards of the perfect hourglass, a large bust and bottom — were being questioned, and it was really impactful to see larger women define beauty on their own terms. I realized I wanted to be a part of that conversation. I want consumers to see my tummy rolls when I’m bending over, my double chin when I laugh really hard, my thighs jiggle when I walk.

On the other hand, I post a fair amount of silly shit — anything from a chef’s kiss of a meme to a video of my mom dancing — in the hopes that I can make someone’s day a little brighter.It’s really exciting to see the fashion and beauty worlds continue to open up to all types of people. There’s no doubt that these worlds are more diverse and inclusive than ever before. But that’s not to say there isn’t more work to be done! It’s imperative that brands continue expanding size and shade ranges.
