Amazon's investment in food-delivery app Deliveroo, its key weapon against Uber Eats in the UK, suffered another big setback from regulators

Amazon led a $575 million fundraising round by Deliveroo in May, and its stake would give it more say in running the online food delivery group's far-reaching UK network.

Britain's competition regulator is launching an in-depth investigation into Amazon's purchase of a stake in online food delivery group Deliveroo after the companies failed to assuage its initial concerns. Earlier this month, the CMA said Amazon's investment into Deliveroo in its current form could harm competition in restaurant food delivery and online convenience grocery delivery.
