Vice President at Space Lockheed Martin International Rod Drury says the US, Australia relationship is “very strong”, adding the two counties are focused on working together with “space as the new frontier”. “It’s the new environment upon which is, if you like, the extended battlefield in which we are operating,” he told Sky News.

“And both nations see that as a priority and are working well together to identify and promote and develop capabilities that take advantage of that environment.” South Australia was chosen for the nation's only space mission control, creating Australia's first space hub. Sky News US political commentator Joe Hockey said space is not only a “great vehicle for the dreams of every generation” but importantly is at the “forefront of science, research and innovation”.

Australia needs a safe and regulated e-cigarette market | Sky News AustraliaThe government should work towards creating a safe and regulated market for vaping in Australia, General Practitioner Dr Joe Kosterich says. \n\nIt is currently illegal to sell e-cigarettes which contain nicotine and an attempt by Health Minister Greg Hunt to introduce a ban on imported liquid nicotine for vaping has been delayed for six months after 28 Coalition backbenchers signed a letter condemning the decision. \n\nMr Kosterich said the original decision would have condemned approximately 300,000 Australians who had quit smoking by vaping, back into smoking”.\n\nHe said Australia needed to follow New Zealand and a number of European nations in making vaping an accessible alternative to smoking given it does not contain the dangerous carcinogenic substances found in cigarettes.\n\nImage: AP Yea like putting foreign things in your most delicate organ of your body that one is good for you, yeah right I agree. Vaping should be a controlled market in AUS. markriseley It would be unthinkable for Australia to regulate local sales of nicotine vapes. Such public health 101 only works in Canada, USA, UK, NZ, EU ..... In OZ moral disapproval helps to highlight that medical science is different here, & harm reduction too hurtful to BigPharma $$s.
