Victorian universities say they are focused on supporting international students who are studying on campus or in their home countries, but online-only learning cannot last forever. coronavirus

Victoria’s education industry is in a “state of disbelief” after Premier Dan Andrews and federal Education Minister Alan Tudge warned large numbers of international students would probably not return this year.

Tun Xiang Foo, a third-year international student undertaking a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, left Australia in May to be with family in Malaysia. But Mr Andrews said this week bringing tens of thousands of international students to Victoria would be “incredibly challenging, if not impossible during this year” due to quarantine capacity constraints.

ANU Professor Andrew Norton said while universities had forecast many years of substantially reduced revenue due to COVID-19 border closures, many had hoped international students would arrive back on campus later this year.

Look at all these people saying no to internationals, not realising it's one of our biggest industries after mining. Wanna pay higher taxes to replace the $$$$ they bring? Go on, any takers?

I think we should let in a Billion Africans and give them free university paid for by the Australian tax payer to become Physicists. That would make our nation more diverse and it would be wonderful.

University are desperate for international cash $$$$
