EXCLUSIVE: VCs are in a frenzy for Census, a data startup that's close to finalizing a Series A led by Sequoia at a $100 million valuation

, a three-year-old startup that helps companies more easily share data among their apps, is close to finalizing a Series A funding round led by Sequoia at a post money-valuation of around $100 million, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

Insider could not confirm the other venture firms that may have also won a spot among Census's Series A investors. A Census representative declined to comment on the matter. Census was cofounded by ex-Microsoft product manager Bories Jabes, who is CEO, former Google product manager Sean Lynch, ex-Amazon engineer Anton Vaynshtok, and software developer Bradley Buda.

Venture firms are now racing to fund data warehousing infrastructure startups, especially in light of the massive success of cloud data warehouse company Snowflake, which raised $3.4 billion in 2020Peer data connectivity company Fivetran, for example, landed a $100 million Series C round co-led by Andreessen and General Catalyst last June in a deal that valued the company at $1.2 billion.
