It’s an opportune time for U.S. firms to think big, as the pandemic deters women from working and labor is scarce. Patagonia says providing for employees' kids is worth it, and government aid can extend the perk to lower-income staff, Gina_Chon writes.

Patagonia President Jenna Johnson and other business leaders met with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris on Aug. 12 to discuss the White House’s child care initiatives. Part of the government’s efforts included an expansion of the child tax credit.
