SAN JOSE — A tech company’s promising efforts to create advanced materials that can be used in batteries and other devices has fueled a burst of hiring and expansion in north San Jose’s Alviso district.
The company has created a lithium-sulfur battery that can use cheaper materials as a substitute for batteries that use relatively costly materials such as metal oxide, cobalt, manganese, or nickel. Lyten’s most recent space expansion led to the company leasing a building located at 110 Baytech Drive in San Jose that totals about 58,000 square feet.
