Our arts reporter's top picks for the days ahead. This week: Joel Plaskett finally gets to Victoria to promote his 2020 album, 44; Ukrainian dance company show benefits the Canada Ukraine Foundation; and the In Sight festival takes over Fort Rodd Hill.

Tickets: $40.17 from admitone.com

Why: Joel Plaskett’s long-delayed Victoria concert to promote his 2020 album, 44 — comprised of four, 11-song records packaged together — is back on track following two years of interruptions. His tour got underway Wednesday in Campbell River and stops tonight at the Capital Ballroom with opening act Mo Kenney along for the ride.

Why: Edmonton’s Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company brings this special presentation to the Royal Theatre stage on Saturday for what should be a spirited, emotional performance. Founded in 1969, and named after the Cheremosh River that separates the regions of Bukovyna and Halychyna, the company merges traditional folk music and customs with ballet performed by up to 50 dancers.
