Southwest Airlines Co. has canceled thousands of flights this week across the nation, and Dallas Love Field has been impacted by that., which tracks flight cancellations, Southwest canceled more than 2,900 flights nationally on Monday alone — representing about 71% of its flight operations — citing complications from the winter storm and staffing challenges.
At Love Field, Southwest canceled 202 flights on Wednesday and 197 on Thursday, according to FlightAware. So far, only four flights are slated for cancellation on Friday.and its analysis of FlightAware data.and said it will examine whether cancellations were controllable and if Southwest is complying with its customer service plan.
"It’s a nightmare — it’s worse than we’ve ever seen it," said Capt. Casey Murray, the union's president."We’re staffed correctly. It’s once something occurs, some type of disruption to the processes start to fail, the IT starts to fail, and we end up exactly where we’re at.”
