At the onset of the pandemic, the restaurant business was one of the hardest hit in the US, with more than 5 million jobs lost in a matter of weeks. Are you a restaurant worker who returned to the industry? We want to hear your story.

The jobs were initially slow to return as some restaurants permanently closed and broader concerns such as those related to health, pay, and caregiving demands kept other workers on the sidelines.

Nearly three year later, the restaurant business is edging closer to full employment. Are you a restaurant worker who returned to the industry? If so, we’d like to hear why. Share your story with CNN below, and you could be featured in an upcoming article.

It wasn’t just the US restaurant industry that was hit hard, I live and work in Canada in the industry and we got hit very hard and the industry here is still struggling to get workers back

I have this same question...got an answer?

No the government closed them so they went to the streets are are now a part of the community that the cops try to shut down (towing cars, harassment on private property, etc but cant nice try

CNN is responsible. Now they report on their own wake of destruction like they just showed up?! Circle jerk.

So much respect for your hard work and dedication.

The Democrats shut everything down and destroyed businesses just so they could steal and election and you helped them with all of your fear porn and propaganda

Remember that one time the state put it’s booot on the neck of small business and you cheered for it? Remember when business owners were being arrested for operating, but criminals were being released from jail over COVID fears? We will always remember. Try it again, please.

I’ve worked in restaurants since I was 16. It’s never been easy, even in the corporate level. The pandemic showed the worst of people in many ways, and we saw the worst of it. I’m willing to talk about it.

The business is back on trail. It is now one of the most booming businesses in Uganda.

'5 million jobs lost' they had names, and if businesses had been held liable for infections on their property, they'd still be around

Democrat governors sure did a number on them😓

Imagine thinking you deserve fifteen dollars an hour for pouring coffee into a cup.

It wasn't easy that time but here we are. Thank God for life

Yes, speak up. TELL EVERYONE about how CNN propaganda cause you to loose your job.

And you guys were a big part of destroying those jobs. You hated Trump so much you cheered on every Covid death with a literal ticker counting them 24/7

ChaGPT can't tell you how to businessInsider tells the global tech, finance, markets, media, healthcare, and strategy stories you want to know. AI right now is only useful for really mechanical/simple tasks, like writing Business Insider articles. Because journalists are not entrepreneurs and don't have the mindset to become one. I read an Insider Business article and it wasn’t that helpful.
