A Colorado bill that would require commercial insurance providers to cover abortions for patients without copays advanced through a House committee on Tuesday.

Candace Woods, who is in the process of ordination with the United Church of Christ and has a seminary degree, testified in favor of the bill Tuesday because of its coverage of abortion care and vasectomies.

“The birth control that failed was covered by my insurance. And if I had decided to stay pregnant and carry a pregnancy to term, all of that health care would have been covered, but my abortion was not,” she told The Denver Post. But anti-abortion opponents of the bill argued against the coverage Tuesday in the Health and Insurance Committee, citing personal responsibility, increased access for minors and coverage not being equitable for pregnancy and delivery.

The Colorado Catholic Conference also testified against the bill, with Executive Director Brittany Vessely saying the bishops’ group doesn’t believe it goes far enough with religious exemptions — employees could still sue under state civil rights employment laws for not providing coverage. Vessely also cited concerns that the bill would violate the state funding ban and reduce parental notification — both of which bill sponsors have disputed.

Everyone in America wants common sense abortion control.

Umm let’s have commercial insurance cover basic needs at a reasonable cost, for everybody , before we start making special arrangements for a select group…

Primes going up. We all have copays…… Colorado is overpriced and they continue to pass legislation to keep high prices going

Murder, free of charge. This state is fucking disgusting.

Pregnancies will require a copay but abortions will not The progressives in Colorado have no morals whatsoever. God help this State, please!

If abortion is as important to people as you say, seems they would be more than happy to pay for it.

So does it mean my payments will go up? Will I, as a single adult with no chance in hell of getting a abortion procedure done have to have this in my policy?

So chemotherapy, for example, will still require a copay but abortions won’t? Don’t you radical ever tire of virtue signaling?

Because insurance rates aren't already high enough?

The most fraudulent state of the United States 🇺🇸

gross

L 👎

I ask this, bcs I honestly do not know the answer. What other procedures that take place in CO, require a $0 copay for private, commercial providers?

Gross. This state is lost.
