Shares of clothing retail firm Next PLC NXT, +3.43% and broadcasting company ITV PLC ITV, +2.43% rallied 3.43% and 2.43%, respectively.

The pound was down 0.39% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.38% at $1.2296 and 0.40% against the euro GBPEUR, -0.43% at €1.1533.
