About 73 million current and former AT&T account holders’ data has leaked on the dark web, the Dallas-based company said.

“With respect to the balance of the data set, which includes personal information such as social security numbers, the source of the data is still being assessed,” officials wrote in a news release.AT&T officials said the company has launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts. In their initial analysis, staff found the data set appears to be from 2019 or earlier, affecting about 7.6 million current account holders and 65.4 million former account holders.
