A New South Wales-based company has produced, for the first time ever, magnesium oxide from coal fly ash waste. The development is seen as a major step in sustainable extraction.

All of the fly ash feed material for the plant is processed using Latrobe’s patented hydrometallurgical extraction process, which produces these valuable by-products without generating further downstream waste or tailings, reportedOxide production from Fly Ash.
