JAKARTA: Indonesia's efforts to become one of the world's largest economies are increasingly paying off. This is demonstrated by the rise of Indonesia's competitiveness ranking by seven places in 2024, the highest in the past six years.

JOHOR BARU: A laundry business has been busted by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry for using liquefied petroleum gas without a permit for its operations.

Lilis Saslinda said the ministry had recorded the statement of the laundry company’s owner, in his 50s, to aid in the investigation. The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961, which upon conviction is punishable with a maximum fine of RM1mil or three-year imprisonment, or both for the first offence.Companies or organisations that were deemed guilty of the offence could face a fine of up to RM2mil for the first office and up to RM5mil for the following offences.
