Police say they're seeking two people from St. Catharines accused of taking a canine from a Westdale dog kennel the subject of an animal welfare investigation.

The next morning, they received a call that one of their dogs was dead. Multiple agencies are now investigating the business.

A police spokesperson says the dog — a medium-sized black dog named Buster — has yet to be returned to its owner and its whereabouts are unknown.There has been mounting concern about the boarding business in recent weeks. “My husband opens the freezer, we see my dog in this freezer just lying dead, like, with no blanket on him,” she said.A photo of a residence on Parkside Drive in Hamilton, Ont. Provincial authorities say the home is part of an investigation for the alleged operation of an illegal dog boarding business.Hamilton police confirmed the daycare, Kippen Cares, has been the subject of investigations by local and provincial animal welfare authorities for reports of animal abuse.
