REPRESENTATIVES of employers and workers in the movie and television industry constituting the Movie and Television Industry Tripartite Council took their oath before Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma on Aug, 5, 2024.The council, to which the DoLE contributes, shall serve as a continuing forum for tripartite consultation with the stakeholders on policies and programs for the movie and television industry.

The council was constituted pursuant to Section 23 of the law signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in May as a measure to further protect the welfare of all workers regardless of their status in the movie and television industry.
