Five men are on trial for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain in Voslorus.

Ballistic expert Colonel Chris Mangena is expected back on the stand in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria this morning.that the bullet that killed Meyiwa was fired from a 9mm pistol – linking the murder to a firearm that was seized from accused number 3 Mthobisi Mncube in 2015.

On Tuesday, defence counsel Thulani Mngomezulu made the assertion that the Meyiwa crime scene was contaminated in an attempt to frame the wrong people. Mngomezulu said: “Evidence before this court is that the first person who entered the house was in possession of 38 special, the second person who entered the house was in possession of a sharp object. I’ll give a possibility that where there was contamination of the scene, there was reason to frame people.
