The owners of Lucille's Luncheonette in Warren Grove have announced they are selling the business to retire. “Spending most of our lives in this restaurant as our family has had it for the last 50 years, has been a true joy,” the Facebook post read. “But along with that, it has been a lot of hard work. Not that we like to admit it... no one gets younger, and we have to look to the future.”

As many of you have seen, we have listed Lucilles for sale. Spending most of our lives in this restaurant as our family.... Sisters Karen Bates-Flynn and Diane Brown are the current owners. Their parents, Lucille and Jim Bates, opened the luncheonette in 1975. The Pine Barrens eatery is known for its breakfast offerings and “Piney” hospitality, which current ownership hope will be continued after the sale. Their menu includes omelets, egg platters, Texas French toast, pancakes, pies and more.

“We have listed the restaurant in hopes of finding the next generation of caretakers for Lucille’s legacy,” the Facebook post continued. “We want to find a buyer that is interested in continuing to serve our clientele in the best way possible.” The owners acknowledged the possibility of the sale being a lengthy process, explaining they want to find the “right fit” before selling. They also mentioned this wasn’t the first time the restaurant has been put up for sale.”Lucille always told us to trust our instincts, so we are confident that will know in our guts when we find the right buyer,” the post said in conclusion. “Until then, stop in, have a bite and take home some pie.
