Top US diplomat Pompeo says Huawei boss Ren Zhengfei lying about company's ties to Chinese government

WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Thursday the chief executive of China's Huawei Technologies was lying about his company's ties to the Beijing government, and he believed more American companies would cut ties with the tech giant.

Huawei has repeatedly denied it is controlled by the Chinese government, military or intelligence services. Asked if he believed more companies would stop working with Huawei, Mr Pompeo said:"We do. We've been working at the State Department to make sure that everyone understands the risks."
