A mother has revealed her shock after her daughter was charged nearly £15 for a measly portion of pick 'n' mix. Emma Gill headed to Manchester Christmas Market this weekend and treated her to a small bag of sweets. But she was quickly shocked when she was charged £14.34 for a couple handfuls of sugary sweets.

Deciding to indulge her daughter in a selection of sweets at the market, Emma gave her free rein to select the candies she wanted. 'I kept a close eye on what she was putting inside the bag, as I'm all too aware of how the price can quickly mount up,' she said.
