The devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles have brought the city's entertainment industry to a standstill. Production shutdowns, road closures, and loss of property have impacted major television shows, cultural institutions, and schools.

Wildfires ravaging Los Angeles this week are causing significant disruption to the entertainment industry, the city's most recognizable sector. Productions ground to a halt on Wednesday as major freeways and roads were shut down, and homes and businesses were destroyed. President Biden declared a major disaster for California on Wednesday, and at least two fatalities have been reported from the fires, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

'Jimmy Kimmel Live' canceled its taping on Wednesday, a source told CBS News. Kimmel's lineup included Cynthia Erivo from 'Wicked,' Brian Jordan Alvarez from 'English Teacher,' and Victoria Canal. An earlier episode will be re-aired instead. Actor Timothée Chalamet is scheduled to appear on Thursday, though it's uncertain if taping will resume. Other ABC productions, including 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Dr. Odyssey,' also halted production. The CBS game show 'After Midnight' also canceled taping. Cultural institutions, including the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades, have been impacted. While the building remains safe, the Getty Villa is closed until early next week. The museum confirmed vegetation burned on the property but structures, collections, and staff are unharmed. Over 20 school districts in Los Angeles were closed on Wednesday, though flight operations at Los Angeles International Airport remain unaffected
