Westlake already boasts a corporate presence from firms such as Charles Schwab, Deloitte and Fidelity Investments.

For being a relatively small town compared to some of its neighboring municipalities, Westlake punches above its weight class when it comes to economic development. Now, the town is aiming to attract more retail and amenities to match its weighty business presence.

“What you would see on the western half is mainly corporate campuses, but also a large retail component along the freeway and highway corridors,” saidWestlake doesn’t have a formal economic development department. Instead, different departments split duties on a case-by-case basis. When Deloitte wanted to expand its Westlake campus, the town manager took the lead.

Going forward, new development in the town will include class A corporate campus space, retail and some smaller, suburban style office. Once Entrada is fully built-out, it’ll have capacity for a little under 1,000 residents, and the Circle T Ranch property has entitlements to build about 700 residential units.
