Senior Pentagon officials say the U.S. needs more investment in missile defense to protect against evolving threats.

"North Korea, led by Kim Jong Un, has a nuclear weapons program and has intercontinental ballistic missiles that can reach the continental United States," explained, the senior director of the Center on Military and Political Power at the nonpartisan Foundation for Defense of Democracies. "Iran for its part has the largest ballistic arsenal in the Middle East."
