It’s been some time since Hill Climbers did a comprehensive update on Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s team, and there are a number of promotions to catch up on, including new deputy directors and two deputy chiefs of staff. Shannon Zimmerman is a deputy chief of staff to Minister Freeland.
Wozny has been with Freeland’s team since the 2021 election. First hired as a legislative assistant to the minister, he most recently held the title of senior parliamentary affairs adviser. A one-time House of Commons page and later proceedings and verification officer, Wozny is a former special assistant for parliamentary affairs to then-government House leader Pablo Rodriguez, and a past executive assistant to the chief of staff to then-innovation minister Navdeep Bains, among other things.
