Former U.S. President Donald Trump commented on Chrystia Freeland's sudden resignation as Canada's Finance Minister, calling her behavior 'toxic' and claiming she 'would not be missed.' Based on her resignation letter, Freeland and Trudeau did not see eye to eye on how to handle Trump and his tariff threat, and it appears to have been a central catalyst to the breakdown of their relationship., Freeland said because of the potential economic impact of U.S.

"It's obviously been an eventful day. It has not been an easy day, but I wanted to come here tonight and speak with you dedicated, devoted members of the Liberal party, because you, not me or any other politician, are the beating heart of this movement," Trudeau said.Trump's comment on Monday is not the first time he has publicly criticized Freeland.
