Dalton Refrigeration in Anchorage, Alaska, experienced a bizarre turn of events when stolen goods were mysteriously returned after a Christmas Day break-in.

Some might call it a Christmas miracle, but for the folks at Dalton Refrigeration, it’s a mystery still unsolved. Store manager Grant Goulet said that surveillance cameras captured three individuals breaking into the company lot and stealing items from trucks on Christmas morning. The following Saturday night, surveillance cameras captured two more individuals returning everything in plastic bags on sleds. “There was, I think, three laptops that were taken.

All the flashlights from all the trucks,” Goulet said. “Bunch of hand tools, power tools and all three torch kits for the oxygen Acetylene kits from all three trucks were taken. “Just a couple of South Pole elves walking through and tiptoeing and just making sure that nobody was here.” Goulet said just days after the theft, the store owner received an email from someone named Sarah Love informing him that based on an anonymous tip, she was asked to try and help return the stolen items. In the days following the break-in, the store’s owner, Dallas Dalton, began doing some investigating of his own and through a series of contacts, he says he believes he tracked down where the thieves are currently living. According to Dalton, however, Anchorage police have said there’s nothing they can do because no one can be clearly identified from the surveillance footage. Dalton says he’s frustrated with the lack of response, considering he feels he’s located the same truck that was used in the Christmas morning robbery.
