Keith Wyness, former Everton chief, believes Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos won't invest in Manchester United due to the club's PR image. He suggests they would need a unique incentive to consider buying into the Red Devils.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos will avoid investing in Man United as they are a ‘PR disaster’. the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the billionaire duo would need to be given a ‘unique edge’ to be persuaded to buy into the Red Devils.

(24 December), United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe raised the prospect of Musk or Bezos – the two richest men in the world – providing funds to help pay for a stadium before purchasing his shares in United earlier this year. A club task force has initially concluded the best option would be the creation of a new stadium for the Red Devils, boasting a capacity of up to 100,000. Ratcliffe has already seen calls for government funding for the project turned down and these new reports suggest thought has gone into approaching other sources for help. I don’t see either of them doing that, unless there is an added advantage which would give them a unique edge.“These two have got access to huge sums, but I think these stories are wide of the mark
