The hottest skincare company in America just laid off 15% of its corporate staffers amid an international expansion

In a statement to Business Insider, Rodan + Fields CEO Diane Dietz said, "Decisions like this are never easy, and we are extremely grateful for the dedication, hard work and passion that our Home Office team has brought to this company."The skincare company Rodan + Fields has laid off roughly 15% of its corporate workforce amid an international expansion, the company confirmed to Business Insider this week.

The company said it cut positions "across all levels and departments" in early December as part of a reorganization. Overall, 86 of roughly 560 corporate employees were laid off. by sales, according to Euromonitor. The company sells lotions and other skincare products that claim to combat lines, dark spots, and acne. Customers can buy the products online and through more than 300,000 consultants.

"After careful consideration, Rodan + Fields made the difficult decision to simplify their home office workforce in order to best position for the future," the company said in a statement to Business Insider. "This move will allow the company to eliminate inefficiencies, adapt more quickly, and drive innovation."

Rodan + Fields has three corporate offices in California, including a headquarters in San Francisco. The company also employs roughly 60 corporate employees in Japan, Australia, and Canada. Rodan + FieldsThe company's president and CEO, Diane Dietz, said the Rodan + Fields brand and its skincare solutions are "stronger than ever."

"Decisions like this are never easy, and we are extremely grateful for the dedication, hard work and passion that our Home Office team has brought to this company," Dietz said in an emailed statement. "We remain committed to our powerful business model as we reorganize to be more agile, focus on global expansion, and ensure that we have sufficient on-the-ground resources available for our launch in Japan.
