BANGKOK:The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's (BMA) Environment Office on Friday reported that levels of ultra-fine dust in Bangkok's nine business districts have exceeded the safe threshold of 50 micrograms (mcg) per cubic meter.

The PM 2.5 levels in the past 24 hours were measured on Friday morning to be between 35-60 mcg, said the BMA's environment office. The nine districts are Wang Thong Lang, Bang Kho Laem, Phra Nakhon, Klong Toei, Laksi, Bueng Khum, Bang Khen, Khlong San and Lat Krabang. The BMA suggests residents and tourists who are particularly sensitive to irritable eyes and skin as a result from thick fine dusts, can find real-time updates of PM 2.5 atMeanwhile, in Ang Thong Province, about 100km from Bangkok, the PM 2.5 level rose to the red zone at 68 mcg per cubic meter for the second time of this year.
