€1bn worth of supports have been announced by government to help struggling Irish businesses, with additional measures to help companies to sell their products online

A BILLION EURO worth of supports for struggling small and medium Irish businesses are now available, Business Minister Heather Humphreys announced today.

These are to provide an extra €250 million for working capital and €200 million for longer-term loans.The minister also announced a €180 million Sustaining Enterprise Fund which will help companies in the manufacturing and international services sectors. The government is also going to be flexible with the vouchers, meaning that businesses will now be able to apply for a second voucher of up to €2,500.

Local Enterprise Board chair Oisin Geoghegan said they have moved all of their training programs, workshops and seminars as well as their business networking platforms online.The minister indicated that a range of other supports would be announced for businesses in the future. “In terms of the next stage, which would be the reboot stage, I can just say I’m certainly working very closely with Minister [Paschal] Donohoe… when the time comes, we will come forward with another suite of packages.

“It is also very positive to hear that Government plans to deliver further liquidity supports for business and to continue to enhance the suite of measures available. In particular, it will be important that measures of scale are rolled out for mid-sized firms as liquidity challenges are currently impacting on businesses of all sizes,” he said.

Is there any hope for international students who have paid hundreds of thousands rupees and got no classroom session, laboratory practice, going to be reimbursemed. They were deprived of their small time work while learn etc..
